Firstly, the silkworms are fed on Arjun tree leaves. It is said that the diet of the silkworm affects the quality of the silk which is why Tussar silk is different from other silk. Cocoons are collected and boiled. This process is known as thread extraction. These silk threads are then coloured with natural dye or acid dye; this process is called Dyeing.
